A dream, fulfilled.

For quite some time blogging about my adventures has been a distant dream. Being an entrepreneur means that most of my time is devoted to the building of my brand. Then I realized that I’ll never have the time; I need to make it. This is me taking the plunge.
I wanted the name to be an authentic representation of my culture. ‘Knock-about’ according to Lise Winer in her Dictionary of the English/Creole of Trinidad and Tobago refers to “a Trinidadian expression meaning to wander freely.” Culturally, ‘knock-about’ is used to describe someone who is very outgoing and always on the move. I felt as if this encapsulated exactly what I try to do; wander and see as much of the world as I can. But this blog is not about me (hence the anonymity). It is to showcase the places, people, food, culture, festivals and everything in between.
I am fortunate enough to be born and raised in the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. We have an exquisite and extensive range of flora and fauna. Breathtaking Caribbean waters wash our sandy rocky shores and there exists a multi-racial, multi-ethnic melting pot of cultures, traditions and festivals. We are more than just sea, sand and sun and that is what this blog aims to showcase.
Thank you for accompanying me on my journey as I knock about wherever my feet take me.
